Welcome by your ARO Baobab team / local guide. Short briefing: tour flow, cultural respect, and safety. Introduction to ARO Baobab’s mission (science + conservation + livelihoods).
Drive from Andranopasy city to Ankoba Village. Along the way, your guide interprets the landscape (dry forest–savanna mosaic, seasonal pressures, community activities, and why baobabs are central to ecosystem resilience).
Arrival and greeting with the community guide team. You receive a quick overview of local rules (respect, noise, photos) and how the community protects the site.
You follow a scenic route through the baobab landscape toward the legendary giant. The guide shares:
- baobab ecology and survival strategies,
- cultural stories and local knowledge,
current threats and the community’s protection efforts.
Time to fully appreciate the scale and uniqueness of this baobab. Your guide explains what makes it exceptional (size, structure, history in the landscape) and why conserving it matters for the entire ecosystem.
Return toward the village while the guide answers questions and shares how tourism contributes to conservation and community benefits.
